Workforce briefing

Seek/gain workforce buy-in to the behavioral process prior to implementation. Conduct briefings and educational awareness sessions so everyone is informed and knows what behavioral safety entails as well as its potential benefits. 

When developing strategies to change or improve a situation, it s important to understand the current or baseline factors relating to that situation. This chapter offers a brief overview of the dynamics of the present civil engineering workforce as they pertain to diversity, including an overview of the traditional workforce and the challenges faced by those professionals who do not necessarily fit the traditional mold. 

Communication about the scheme Whether or not the decision is made to undertake a pilot project, the whole of the workforce should be briefed as to the nature of the scheme. This is usually a three-stage process.
