Henry Taube (b. 1915 in Canada) is Professor Emeritus of Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry, Stanford University. He received the 1983 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on the mechanisms of electron transfer reactions, especially in metal complexes. His other distinctions include the National Medal of Science (1977), the Robert A. Welch Award in Chemistry (1983), and the Priestley Medal of the American Chemical Society (1985). Ernest King, a medical officer at the FDA, was listed as first author on a JAMA article describing clinical success with Terramycin less than two months after he evaluated the Pfizer application.28 He would later approve a number of additional Terramycin formulations.
