Likewise, Henry Welch, director of the FDA s antibiotics division, treated cases of chronic diarrhea in 1949 with "Combiotic, an otherwise unidentified Pfizer experimental drug. The report he sent to the company mirrored published case studies in its attention to clinical detail ...
