The length of the drainage period after the simulated flood was difficult to determine. The loosely packed coated- and uncoated-paper books absorbed more water than the tightly packed books—approximately five times as much for the coated- and twice as much for the uncoated-paper books. In both series of experiments more than 93% of the water absorbed in the loosely packed, uncoated-paper books evaporated during a 120-hr drainage period. These experimental results could explain why several of the actual frozen, flood-damaged, uncoated-paper books, after thawing, contained only small amounts of water. They were perhaps the last uncoated-paper books to be packed and frozen after the flood waters receded. 

The tension is different for different liquids. If a drop of alcohol is put on the surface of a thin layer of water in a flat dish, the water recedes and leaves an almost dry spot where the alcohol was put on (Fig. 

Lungfish live in areas with temporary water bodies, such as shallow swamps, the stagnant backwaters of river courses, and small creeks. These areas are prone to dry out during the dry season. As the water recedes, lungfish burrow into the mud, forming a hollow at the end of the tunnel. The lungfish curl up, tail over head, keeping the nostrils clear of dust and dirt, and secrete a mucous cocoon.

Assume that today it started to rain for 40 days, and the rain covered all the land on the Earth. Further assume that the flood waters receded to preflood days within several months. What would be the geopolitical changes as a result of the temporary flood What would be the ecological changes ... 

Also, it has been discovered that plants discriminate against carbon dioxide containing carbon-14 atoms, so that the absorption rate is lower than for normal carbon-12. Additionally, the rate of carbon-14 formation in the atmosphere has fluctuated due to Earth s weakening magnetic field. And finally, the Hood would have made a huge difference in that a vast quantity of carbon, in the form of plant and animal life, was pulled out of the biosphere and buried under the sediment deposited as the waters receded.
