Vomiting from vertigo

In two studies of rivastigmine, 38% of users suffered from nausea, 23% from vomiting, and 24% from vertigo (8). Over 6 months there was a dropout rate of 25%. The gastrointestinal effects led to significant loss of weight. The positive response rate was only 10%, compared with a 6% response to placebo. [Pg.643]

Symptoms of poisoning from male fern use include vomiting, diarrhea, vertigo, headache, tremors, cold sweats, difficulty breathing, cyanosis, convulsions, stupor, and mental disturbances. Poisonings have included disturbance of vision and sometimes blindness, which was permanent in several cases. Fatal cases of poisonings have been reported... [Pg.319]

Ci5H g04, Mr 262.31, cryst., mp, 168 °C, [ajp -102° (acetone), soluble in alcohol, chloroform, poorly soluble in water. A toxic sesquiterpene lactone that induces sneezing from Helenium and Arnica species such as, e.g., Helenium autumnale and Arnica mon-tana [LD50 (mouse p.o.) 150 mg/kg]. After intoxication, the symptoms are nasal irritation, vomiting, diarrhea, vertigo, palpitation, respiratory impairment, and finally collapse with a weak, very rapid pulse. In the past deaths have been reported after consumption of Arnica preparations. Contact with the skin leads to dermatitis. [Pg.283]

Meniere s disease is a condition in which there is increased volume of endolymph with dilatation of the membranous labyrinth. It is brought about by excessive production of endolymph or impaired outflow from the labyrinth. It is characterised by attacks of vertigo, tinnitus, nausea and vomiting. [Pg.757]

Iron pentacarbonyl is approximately one-third as potent as nickel carbonyl when inhaled by rats for 30 minutes. Effects from inhalation of high concentrations of the chemical are expected to be similar to those of nickel carbonyl, which include frontal headache, vertigo, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes substernal and epigastric pain. Generally these early effects disappear when the subject is removed to fresh air. [Pg.405]

Chemical plant workers chronically exposed to 6-12 ppm developed headache, vertigo, nervousness, sleeplessness, nausea, and vomiting. Similar symptoms have occurred in workers repeatedly exposed to 125 ppm in some cases, lower abdominal or back discomfort with urinary frequency was observed without associated evidence of liver or kidney damage. Serious liver and kidney injury has been reported after oral administration of 1.8-2.5ml of pyridine daily for 2 months in the treatment of epilepsy. Skin irritation may result from prolonged or repeated contact with the chemical. [Pg.613]

Disuifiram-aicohoi reaction Disulfiram plus alcohol, even small amounts, produces flushing, throbbing in head and neck, throbbing headaches, respiratory difficulty, nausea, copious vomiting, sweating, thirst, chest pain, palpitations, dyspnea, hyperventilation, tachycardia, hypotension, syncope, marked uneasiness, weakness, vertigo, blurred vision, and confusion. In severe reactions there may be respiratory depression, cardiovascular collapse, arrhythmias. Ml, acute CHF, unconsciousness, convulsions, and death. The intensity of the reaction is proportional to the amounts of disulfiram and alcohol ingested. The duration of the reaction varies from 30 to 60 minutes to several hours. [Pg.1324]
