Volume of combustion products

Volume of combustion products produced per standard cubic foot of natural gas burned 11.5 std ft3 (11.5 m3 per standard cubic meter)... [Pg.514]

The drying air is cooled in a scrubber/condenser where the water, evaporated in the spray dryer, is removed. The air is subsequently recycled to the direct gas-fired air heater. A vent will exhaust a volume of drying air equal to the volume of combustion products from the gas burner. However, most of the air is recycled in the system. [Pg.103]

The dust from the furnaces is mainly formed by the cement raw material, particularly limestone. The weight concentration of the dust per volume of combustion products is typically 2-7 g m in the case of shaft furnaces,... [Pg.523]

Based on the measured distribution of radiation intensity along the combustor length, the average radiant heat loss rate for the entire combustor volume for the 02/Ar case is estimated at about 4.0 W/cm, corresponding to a total radiant heat loss of about 20 kW or 160 cal/g of combustion products. Heat loss of 160 cal/g, together with an estimated combustion products temperature of 3050 K, implies that the reactedness of the mixture is on the order of 60% to 70%. The lower estimate of reactedness corresponds to a case in which the unburned aluminum never ignited. The higher estimate of reactedness corresponds to a case where the unburned aluminum is at the same temperature as the rest of the mixture, which implies that it is in vapor phase. The actual reactedness should fall between these two extremes. [Pg.138]

In "reactor" A the fuel is oxidized, an appropriate carrier provides the oxygen. The carrier will be circulated between "reactor" A and reactor "B". In reactor B it will be recharged with oxygen. The mass balance performed at the surface of the control volume of the process is identical to a normal combustion. Only fuel and oxygen or air are transferred into the control volume and combustion products and nitrogen are exhausted from it the latter one only if air is used for oxidation instead of pure oxygen. [Pg.75]

The mixture ratio R is a volume concentration of index fuel (CO + H2) relative to the sum of index and limit fuels, where the limit fuel is CO + CH4 or H2 + CH4. Mixtures having the same value of MN yield the same composition of combustion products and adiabatic flame temperature when burning stoichio-metrically with air. This choice was made in order to assess whether adiabatic flame temperature and final composition were significant factors in explaining differences of behavior for different fuel compositions. Additional details on the selection of gas mixtures composition can be found in Reference (9). [Pg.136]

To determine if the catalyst section is sized properly, first calculate the volume of flue products at 1000°F from the combustion of the natural gas ... [Pg.391]

Volume output (amount of working agent, that is, of the mixture of combustion products with secondary air), m /hr 480... [Pg.116]

Venting of Combustion Products As gas deflagrates or detonates in the piping system, there is a volume expansion of the products... [Pg.2308]
