The antibody fragment also binds to vitronectin receptors (av integrin) that are present on a number of tissues including vessel wall endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells and platelets. These receptors are involved in the proliferative properties of endothelial and smooth muscle cells and the procoagulant properties of the platelets.

Overall, this constitutes a selectivity ratio of more than seven orders of magnitude.
