Vibrating loads

In pulse version of MIA method the probes excite in tested object (TO) free attenuating pulses. Their carrier frequencies coincide with natural frequencies of transmitting probe vibrator loaded to the mechanical impedance Zg = / (Z -tZ,), where Z is elastic... [Pg.827]

Resonant vibration. Any of the forced vibration loads, such as cyclic or misalignment loads, may have a frequency that coincides with a natural frequency of the rotating-shaft system, or any component of the complete power plant and its foundation, and may, thus, excite vibration resonance. [Pg.607]

The value of 1.5 is a safety factor to accommodate impact and vibration loads. Equation 4-1 does not account for wind and setback loads, thus, it may provide too low an estimate of the derrick load in extreme cases. [Pg.506]

This second group of tests is designed to measure the mechanical response of a substance to applied vibrational loads or strains. Both temperature and frequency can be varied, and thus contribute to the information that these tests can provide. There are a number of such tests, of which the major ones are probably the torsion pendulum and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA). The underlying principles of these dynamic tests have been covered earlier. Such tests are used as relatively rapid methods of characterisation and evaluation of viscoelastic polymers, including the measurement of T, the study of the curing characteristics of thermosets, and the study of polymer blends and their compatibility. They can be used in essentially non-destructive modes and, unlike the majority of measurements made in non-dynamic tests, they yield data on continuous properties of polymeric materials, rather than discontinuous ones, as are any of the types of strength which are measured routinely. [Pg.116]

It must have high strength over the operating temperature range to withstand vibrational loads and road shocks. [Pg.20]

It is realized that even at this higher temperature, organic materials of this nature are below their glass transition temperature and their utility is dependent upon a lack of brittleness and high impact resistance below this transition. The problem, therefore, is to find a curable elastomer that will resist, as much as possible, bend stresses and shock and vibration loading without exhibiting brittle failure. [Pg.153]

In use, the sealants may be exposed to shock and vibration loads of various frequencies and amplitudes. A test fixture was designed and a procedure was developed to determine if vibrations of various intensities, through a schedule of conditions specified by the sponsor, would cause failure in a sealed joint. It was used as an evaluation technique on candidate sealants found through the screening tests to be the best available. Adiprene L-lOO, cured with castor oil and reinforced with six plies of 181 style glass fabric, was tested, and at 76 K withstood all vibration loads to which it was subjected. [Pg.157]

Certification tests undertaken by the Construction, Architecture and Geodesy University of Sofia, Bulgaria and NIIZhB of Moscow, Russia showed that concrete strength after application of the paints is increased 3—8 times under fluctuating and vibration loads. Increase in wall surface strength is of the most value when softening of the... [Pg.371]

Dynaflect and Road Rater are vibrating load devices developed in the United States in the 1970s. They measure dynamic deflection while they are stationary, using a sinusoidal force. Unlike the Benkelman beam and semi-static devices, they are also capable of measuring the deflection basin since deflection is recorded by velocity transducers (usually five). Both devices comply with ASTM D 4695 (2008) and ASTM D 4602 (2008). [Pg.762]

The dynamic load system (a combination of static and dynamic force, hence servo-vibrating load) is located at the middle of a two-axle truck. The applied dynamic load is applied to the pavement surface via two rollers placed parallel to the track wheel axles. The deflection is... [Pg.770]

On the cylindrical part of the core barrel in the zone of flow separator the compensating plates are placed with the help of which the design value of mounting clearance is achieved. In heating-up the reactor vessel and internals this clearance is decreased and the core barrel is clamped to the flow separator over the whole perimeter that reduces the vibration loads on the core barrel. Design of the core baffle channels is changed to smooth temperature fields in the baffle and to decrease the resulted deformations of the baffle. [Pg.146]

Finally, we define the total co-vibrating load, Fd, combining self weight, external permanent loads and the co-vibrating part of live loads Fo=Fp + cFi Herein, c is defined as the share of the live loads that are co-vibrating. [Pg.112]

Herein m is the total static mass, this comprises the self weight and added mass as a consequence of the co-vibrating loads in SLS and corresponds therefore with as defined previously. The natural frequency associated with mode i can be expressed as ft = coIln) = Ccor,il n )yl klmy) We add the constant Ccor to provide exact analytical solutions if they are available (e.g. beams). [Pg.113]
