Using Range.Select

The Range.Select combined with the ActiveCell object can accomplish essentially the same thing that Cells does. Here is an example  

This inputs into the variable v whatever valne is in cell BIO. The. Value method is actually the defanlt for ActiveCell and can be omitted. This technique of input is more unwieldy than the Cells method.

Other Heterocyclic Nitrogen Derivative Herbicides. The herbicides in this group are heterocycHc nitrogen derivatives that do not readily fall into one of the previously discussed groups. They have a wide range of uses and properties. Most of these herbicides are used for selective, pre-and/or post-emergence weed control. Amitrole is used for post-emergence, nonselective weed control in non-croplands and also as an aquatic herbicide (2,296). 

Monte Carlo Method The Monte Carlo method makes use of random numbers. A digital computer can be used to generate pseudorandom numbers in the range from 0 to 1. To describe the use of random numbers, let us consider the frequency distribution cui ve of a particular factor, e.g., sales volume. Each value of the sales volume has a certain probabihty of occurrence. The cumulative probabihty of that value (or less) being realized is a number in the range from 0 to 1. Thus, a random number in the same range can be used to select a random value of the sales volume. 

Two groups of workers have demonstrated conclusively that the concept of three sets of substituent constants, ct, a, and ct+, is inadequate and that actually substantially continuous ranges of such constants are necessary for practically all para substituents, as well as for certain substituents in the meta position. The stability phase diagrams contain a wealth of information. Using some selected examples from the literature it is intended to show their range of application in the field of corrosion. 

The thermal and UV resistance will depend on the stabiliser systems used. The hardness of the coating will depend on the amount and type of plasticiser used. Correct selection of the plasticiser can permit the use of the plastisols at high or low temperatures, provide fire resistance or oil resistance. Plastisols can be produced in a range of gloss levels from 80 units down to 10 gloss units. 

Calcium in the 10-500ng range can be determined by using the selective spectrofluorimetric reagent l,5-bis(dicarboxymethyl-aminoethyl)2,6-dihydroxynaphthalene at pH 11.7 (Ref. 32). 

The syn selectivity of boron trifluoride promoted 2-butenylstannane-aldehyde reactions has been examined for a range of different systems less useful syn selectivity was observed for reactions of 2-butenylstannanes with alkyl 2-oxopropanoates68, but better selectivity was found with alkyl 2-oxoacetates69. 

A third program allows plotting of selected or all data files on the disk. A fourth program is used routinely to watch the responses of the detectors before data collection is started. It plots the latest responses on the screen for a time range selected by the operator. 

Drawing on this representation, an approach has been described to systematically describe selection of food products to evaluate the applicability of collaboratively studied methods over a range of food matrices (Wolf and Andrews 1995). A food matrix is described by its location in one of the nine sectors in the triangle. Foods falling within the same sector are chemically similar and thus should behave in a similar analytical manner. This same scheme can be used to select food matrices representing each sector for development of a series of RMs representing all foods. 

For a given type and design of pump, the performance will depend on the impeller diameter, the pump speed, and the number of stages. Pump manufacturers publish families of operating curves for the range of pumps they sell. These can be used to select the best pump for a given duty. A typical set of curves is shown in Figure 5.11. 

The equipment used for solid-solid separation processes was developed primarily for the minerals processing and metallurgical industries for the benefication (up-grading) of ores. The techniques used depend on differences in physical, rather than chemical, properties, though chemical additives may be used to enhance separation. The principal techniques used are shown in Figure 10.1 which can be used to select the type of processes likely to be suitable for a particular material and size range. 

Figure 10.2, which is based on a similar chart given by Matthews (1971), can be used to select the type of screening equipment likely to be suitable for a particular size range. Equipment selection will normally be based on laboratory and pilot scale screening tests, conducted with the co-operation of the equipment vendors. The main factors to be considered, and the information that would be required by the firms supplying proprietary screening equipment, are listed below ... 

The pitch of the coils and the area covered can be selected to provide the heat transfer area required. Standard pipe sizes are used ranging from 60 to 120 mm outside diameter. The half-pipe construction makes a strong jacket capable of withstanding pressure better than the conventional jacket design.
