Urogenital membrane

Cobb s collar (Cobb et al. 1968) is a congenital narrowing of the bulbar urethra with no connection to the verumontanum (Dewan et al. 1994). It was shown that Cobb s collar is frequently associated with tubular or cystic dilatation of Cowper s glands ducts (also called syringocele) (Dewan 1996), both structures arising embryologically from the urogenital membrane area. 

The physical barriers include the skin, mucus membranes, epidermis and dermis. The skin maintains a low pH because of lactic and fatty acids. The mucus membranes in the respiratory system, urogenital system and gastrointestinal (GI) system create a substantial surface barrier. Epidermis and dermis constitute additional physical barriers. The dermis also produces sebum, which maintains an acidic pH due to its lactic and fatty acid content. 

There is a vogue for many scientifically nonqualified aromatherapists to practice clinical aromatherapy, in which they prescribe the internal usage of essential oils. Internal prescribing involves oral, rectal, and vaginal intake however, the use of tampons soaked in various potentially toxic essential oils, such as the various tea tree oils, with variable biological potential could have a possible harmful effect on the delicate internal mucosal membranes. The possibility of misdiagnosis of a urogenital condition by medically unqualified aromatherapists or by the patients themselves could also result in serious consequences. 

The prohormone Angiotensin I is then cleaved at the Phe8-His9 peptide bond by the relatively nonspecific ACE (also known as kininase II or dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase). ACE is a membrane-bound glycoprotein, found to be in the epithelial cells of pulmonary capillaries, the urogenital tract, the spleen, and the intestine. Incidentally, by removal of the terminal two amino acids from the carboxyl end of des-Asp-Angiotensin I, ACE can produce seven-membered peptide angiotensin III. The kininase responsible for the breakdown of bradykinin is now known to be identical to ACE.

The respiratory, digestive and urogenital systems are lined with phospholipid-containing mucous membranes, which resist chemical attack and act as barriers to parasitic organisms.
