Trinuclear species

Tetrazole with [(T) -C3Hj)2Rh(acac)] gives the trinuclear complex 191 (86JCS(D)2193). This product with [Rh( j.-Cl)(CO)2]2 produces the mixed-valence trinuclear species 192. [Pg.165]

The green solution mentioned in class 1 resulting from the reaction of RuC13 with RC00H/(RC0)20 mixtures contains a trinuclear species with an Ru30(0Ac)6 core. Refluxing RuC13 with ethanoic acid and sodium acetate... [Pg.36]

The interaction of small, well defined, rhodium clusters, Rh and Rhs, with O2 has been investigated (220) by matrix infrared, and UV-visible, spectroscopy, coupled with metal/02 concentration studies, warm-up experiments, and isotopic oxygen studies. A number of binuclear O2 complexes were identified, with stoichiometries Rh2(02)n, n = 1-4. In addition, a trinuclear species Rhs(02)m, m = 2 or 6, was identified. The infrared data for these complexes, as well as for the mononuclear complexes Rh(02)x, = 1-2 (229), are summarized in Table XI. Metal-concentration plots that led to the determination of... [Pg.118]

A typical ligand capable of generating a dendritic structure is 1,4,5,8,9,12-hexaazatriphenylene (HAT). Photophysical studies of trinuclear species based on HAT have been reported [14 a, 49]. Representative example of complexes of this type are 26, 27, and 28. For some of these complexes, the luminescence, originating from MLCT levels involving the central HAT ligand, was found to decay with multiexponential kinetics. Furthermore, the vibrational modes responsible for the nonradiative decay of the luminescent MLCT states are different in the polynuclear dendritic edifices with respect to the mononuclear [M(L)2(HAT)]2+ compounds [14a]. [Pg.227]

Improved control was observed, however, upon addition of benzyl alcohol to the dinuclear complexes.887 X-ray crystallography revealed that whereas (296) simply binds the alcohol, (297) reacts to form a trinuclear species bearing four terminal alkoxides. The resultant cluster, (298), polymerizes rac-LA in a relatively controlled manner (Mw/Mn=1.15) up to 70% conversion thereafter GPC traces become bimodal as transesterification becomes increasingly prevalent. NMR spectroscopy demonstrates that the PLA bears BnO end-groups and the number of active sites was determined to be 2.5 0.2. When CL is initiated by (298) only 1.5 alkoxides are active and kinetic analysis suggests that the propagation mechanisms for the two monomers are different, the rate law being first order in LA, but zero order in CL. [Pg.47]

The trinuclear species Ru3(CO)i2 was less active as a catalyst unless triarylphosphines or triaryl phosphites were added, in which case the activity was greater than that of the mononuclear species. The catalytic polynuclear species was probably H4Ru4(CO)8L4. [Pg.54]

The behavior of Ru3(CO)12 contrasts with that of Fe3(CO)12 and Os3(CO)12, which on reaction with acetylenes gives predominantly trinuclear species. [Pg.325]

The nature of the reaction products obtained on refluxing vanadium(iii) halides with acetic or propionic acids has been confirmed as H[V30(RC02)8]-[VCl(MeC02)2] was isolated after reaction under mild conditions. The room-temperature magnetic moments of the trinuclear species of ca. 2.65 BM are... [Pg.39]

Among a series of complexes with sulfur-containing ligands (e.g., WS4 , M0S4 (ethanedithiolate)2, 85 ) is the trinuclear species [(bpy)2RuS2WS2Ru(bpy)2] " " which has been structurally characterized. ... [Pg.630]

Recently Biedermann (22) restudied the hydrolytic equilibria using techniques similar to those of Hedstrom. While generally confirming Hedstrom s results, he concluded that minor concentrations of a trinuclear species, Fes(OH)4, were required for an accurate fit of the data. Bieder-mann s equilibrium constants are log )S22=—2.96, log 1843=—5.77, log, 8ii= -3.05, log /321 = 6.31. [Pg.120]

Other oligomeric complexes are obtained with nitrogen donor ligands including amides, such as [Au4 NSiMe3)3 4] [226], or formamidates such as [Au4 (NPh)2CH 4] [227], triazenides, such as [Au4 (NPh)2N 4] [228], or pyrazolates, such as the trinuclear species commented above or the hexanuclear [Au6(2-5-Ph2pz)6] [229]. [Pg.26]

Homoleptic gold(III) derivatives with dithiolate, ligands of the type [Au(S-S)2] are well known and are usually prepared from [AuC14] with the dithiol some examples are with 1,2-benzene dithiolate, maleonitriledithiolate, dmit, and so on, [164, 336]. Similar complexes have been reported for bidentate sulfur ligands such as dithiocarbamates, dithiophosphates, and so on, [41]. Other derivatives as the trinuclear species [Au(C6F5)(S2C6H4)]3 [337] or the complex with one nido and one closo-carborane dithiolate are known [338]. Figure 1.72 collects some of these complexes. [Pg.47]

When the reaction of Hg[CH2P(S)Ph2]2 with Au(tht)Cl was performed in a 1 2 molar ratio the trinuclear species 8 was quantitatively isolated [38]. The molecule... [Pg.187]
