Transmetallation with platinum complexes

Ni(III) complexes, 8, 118—119 preparation, 8, 63 via transmetallation, 8, 69—70 Nickel-porphyrin complexes, with platinum(II), 8, 477 (j-Nickel precursors... [Pg.155]

Silver-NHC complexes have been shown as excellent NHC delivery agents. Few examples of transmetallation using distinct late TMs have been reported. Tungsten pentacarbonyl NFIC complex (203) was found efficient to transfer easily its NHC ligand to palladium (equation 35) and platinum (equation 36) yielding, respectively, palladium dimer (204) and platinum complex (205) with carbonyl ligand transfer. This is to be noted, as chromium and molybdenum analogs of (203) exhibited similar reactivity. [Pg.6639]

Platinum complexes (78) have been obtained by transmetallation of K[Ph2P(E)NP(E )PPh2] with cw-PtCl2(HL)2. P NMR shows the two P centres to be identical, pointing to a fast proton exchange between the nitrogen... [Pg.203]

Conversion of norbornadiene to nortricyclenes can also be achieved with organomercurials. This reaction proceeds via transmetalation to form a c-bonded organopalladium system which inserts norbornadiene. Thus an enrfo-cw-addition is observed. Conversions of this type were observed in the phenylation of dichloro(t -norbornadiene)palladium either with diphenyl-mercury or, more conveniently, with sodium tetraphenylborate to give di-/r-chlorobis(2 5,6-t -c ffo-3-phenylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-e /o-2-yl)palladium (30) via cis addition.By contrast, the analogous platinum complex did not give a phenylation product. The palladium complex 30 underwent reversible ring closure to a nortricyclenyl complex 31 with pyridine. ... [Pg.1874]

Alkynyl complexes contain metal-carbon bonds in which the metal is bound to the sp-hybridized carbon at the terminus of a metal-carbon triple bond. The materials properties of these complexes have been investigated extensively. The properties of these complexes include luminescence, optical nonlinearity, electrical conductivity, and liquid crystallinity. These properties derive largely from the extensive overlap of the metal orbitals with the ir-orbitals on the alkynyl ligand. The M-C bonds in alkynyl complexes appear to be considerably stronger than those in methyl, phenyl, or vinyl complexes. Alkynyl complexes are sometimes prepared from acetylide anions generated from terminal alkynes and lithium bases (e.g., method A in Equation 3.42), but the acidity of alkynyl C-H bonds, particularly after coordination of the alkyne to the transition metal, makes it possible to form alkynyl complexes from alkynes and relatively weak bases (e.g., method B in Equation 3.42). Alkynyl copper complexes are easily prepared and often used to make alkynylnickel, -palladium, or -platinum complexes by transmetallation (Equation 3.43). This reaction is a step in the preparation of Ni, Pd, or Pt alkynyl complexes from an alkyne, base, and a catalytic amoimt of Cul (Equation 3.44). This protocol for... [Pg.97]

Transmetallation of l,T-bis(trimethylstannyl)ruthenocene 228 with PtC cod) has been employed for the preparation of a dinuclear platinum complex with a bridging ruthenocene-diyl ligand (229, Equation (62)). " ... [Pg.479]

Only palladium- and platinum-containing heterocycles were described between 1995 and 2006. Mateo et a/, reported that iodoaryl stannane 70 reacts with Pd(PPh3)4 to afford palladacycle 71, as a result of an intramolecular Pd/Sn transmetallation of the intermediate oxidative addition arylpalladium(ll) complex (Equation 10) <1996CEJ1596>. [Pg.1285]

The platinum(IV)-containing fragment can be easily transferred from one arene to another. For example, when a solution of the cr-toly complex of platinum(IV) is heated in aqueous trifluoroacetic acid with an excess of anisole or ethylbenzene, transarylation (transmetalation) occures [48c] ... [Pg.307]

Different types of metallodendrimers with metal compounds at each repeating unit throughout the dendrimer have been reviewed [195,197]. Because of their high concentration of metal centers, they can be considered as nanoparticle equivalents. One example is the platinum acetylide dendrimer 72 obtained by a stoichiometric transmetallation to form acetylides [204]. This metallodendrimer has a precedent in earlier syntheses of linear Pt-acetylide coordination polymers. Several papers describe the synthesis of various Ru pyridyl complexes as repeating units for photochemical investigations and non-... [Pg.311]

Allylic complexes of palladium can be used as a source of the allyl moiety to synthesize other metal -allylic complexes. Redox transmetallation to a Pt(0) complex leads to a platinum 77 -allyl derivative (Equation (44)). The reaction is easier when a cationic palladium allyl is used, and can be viewed as a nucleophilic attack of the Pt(0) complex to the allylic fragment. The transmetallation takes place with inversion of configuration of the allyl group. The same reaction occurs with Pd(0) complexes, a redox exchange with inversion of configuration of the allylic fragment. However, when a neutral palladium(ll) 77 -allyl complex is employed, the reaction leads to dimeric palladium(l) derivatives, as discussed before (Equation (41)). [Pg.374]

Silver complexes of abnormal triazolylidenes are significantly more stable than those of abnormal imidazolylidenes, and hence transmetalation is frequently applied to the preparation of triazolylidene complexes with all types of platinum group and coinage metals. ... [Pg.131]
