Tracing the Geosphere Effect on Vegetation and Animals

MC-ICP-MS has facilitated the use of Ca isotopes in soils and vegetation [53-55], marine precipitates [56], and animal tissues [57]. Studies of trees indicate that 44/42ca values are highest in the leaves and lower in roots and stemwood, although all tree tissues have lower values than the extractable Ca in their soils
