Toxicity agricultural polymers

Intensive application of pesticides and polymers in agriculture and industry cause the increase of number of toxic organic substances, which circulate in an environment, and constantly complicates their disclosure, identification and quantitative detection. 

Among organic chemicals are included the majority of important industrial compounds, synthetic polymers, agricultural chemicals, biological materials, and most substances that are of concern because of their toxicities and other hazards. Pollution of the water, air, and soil environments by organic chemicals is an area of significant concern. 

The third green criterion indicates that the long-term effects of manmade materials in the environment are as important as their initial impact as litter. The use of degradable materials in consumer products or in agricultural waste must not lead to the generation of toxic or otherwise environmentally unacceptable chemicals in the environment. All components used in preparation of cast films were non-toxic and either natural renewable or biodegradable synthetic polymers. Fmthermore, all ingredients are environmentally compatible and can be utilized for application as agriculture mulch. The presence of natural fillers will help maintain organic matter in the soil and urea would act as an additional source of fertilizer nitrogen.
