Tokamak feasibility

S. Vepfek, S. Rambert, M. Heintze, F. Mattenberger, M, Juriik-Rajman, W. Portmann, D. Ringer, and U. Stiefel, Development of plasma CVD and feasibility study of boron carbide in-situ coatings for tokamaks, J. Nucl, Mat. 162-164, 724-731(1989). [Pg.386]

Hashimoto et al. [ ] have described a multifilamentary NbaSn superconductor produced by heat treatment of a composite consisting of niobium cores and a two-component matrix of pure copper and a high-tin bronze (Sn-20 wt.% Cu). The technical feasibility and economic advantages of this technique have been evaluated in the present study. This study included consideration of the likely cost per A m and the overall current densities achievable with this new conductor design. Particular attention was devoted to high current (10 kA at 12 T) conductors suitable for application in magnets intended for experimental controlled thermonuclear reaction devices, such as the Fusion Engineering Research Facility (FERF) [ ] at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and the tokamak-type experimental reactors. [Pg.398]

The feasibility of powder-filled resins has been considered in project studies concerning a tokamak machine proposed for the investigation of plasma physics by the EURATOM - CEA association. The project "TORE II SUPRA" is described elsewhere. ... [Pg.131]

Existing tokamak fusion reactor designs with magnetic divertors have therefore exclusively poloidal field or multipole divertors. But using versions with multipoles installed inside, as in ASDEX, it has not yet been possible to find a feasible solution compatible with reactor access, manufacture and service requirements. [Pg.52]

Resume TOROIDAL MAGNETS FOR TOKAMAK REACTORS ARE FEASIBLE. [Pg.54]

At this point, an unconventional approach to fusion deserves attention if, besides the feasibility, it has at least one of the following advantages with respect to the (Z), T) Tokamak ... [Pg.537]
