Tincture of cardamom

Tincture of Cardamom. Moisten 4 troy ounces cardamom, in fine powder, with 2 fluid ounces diluted alcohol pack it firmly in a cylindrical percolator, and displace, with diluted alcohol, 2 pints of tincture. (U. S. Ph.)... 

Tonic Aromatic Mixture. Digest in a close vessel for 3 days, agitating frequently, 1 ounce powdered pale cinchona baric, 3 drachms powdered calumba root, 2 drachms bruised cloves, and 4 ounce iron ings in 16 fluid ounces peppermint water strain, and add 3 fluid ounces compound tincture of cardamoms, and 3 fluid drachms tincture of orange peel. Dose. 1 or 2 table-spoonfuls or more, 3 or 4 times a day. 

Hall s Solution of Stiycfania. Take pure crystals of strychnia. Id grains water and alcoht) , of each 7 i ounces acetio acid and compound tincture of cardamoms, of each 4 ounce. Mix for solution. Dose, 20 to 30 drops, once or twice a day. 

The glycerol contents of certain pharmacopoeial preparations are now standardised, based on the periodate oxidation after preliminary purification. For Compound Tincture of Cardamom, containing 5 per cent v/v of glycerin and Elixir of Cascara, containing 3T5 per cent v/v of glycerin the method is the same after initial dilutions of 20 to 100 and 2-5 to 100 respectively. It is unnecessary to heat to 40° for oxidation. 

Tincture of RbLubarb, Mix together 3 troy ounces rhubarb in moderately coarse powder, and troy ounce cardamom in moderately fine powder moisten with 1 fluid ounco diluted alcohol, pack moderately in a conical percolator, and uisplace, with diluted alcohol. 2 pints of tincture ( T. S. PH.)... 

Bad way s Benovating Besolv-ent. A vinous tincture of ginger ami cardamom, sweetened with sugar, (ffuyer and Jaeohsen.)...
