TIME TOGETHER

Time together is important to all relationships. The average worker doesn t spend much time with family members—maybe four or five hours each evening, when not traveling, and a few hours on the weekend. Sometimes, even when physically home, attention is consumed by work-related problems. Retirement can dramatically alter both the amount and quality of your time with family members. Think about this time and how it will be used. Couples who are not prepared, especially if the retiree has nothing to do, very quickly can get on each other s nerves. [Pg.164]

It s unrealistic to expect both members of a life partnership will enjoy all of the same activities. Therefore, it is unrealistic to expect you will spend all of your time together. The challenge is to identify what each wants to do that the other does not then give each other permission to engage in those activities alone. If you can do this in a way that neither party feels left out, you will be successful. One way to get there is to schedule individual activities at the same time. For example, one can go to a ball game while the other visits a museum. [Pg.164]

To ensure that your time together is positive, discuss the following items with your life partner  [Pg.164]

Diserete minimization gives the reeursive Rieeati equations (9.29) and (9.30). These are run in reverse-time together with the diserete reverse-time state traeking equation... [Pg.281]

The partial differential equations describing the catalyst particle are discretized with central finite difference formulae with respect to the spatial coordinate [50]. Typically, around 10-20 discretization points are enough for the particle. The ordinary differential equations (ODEs) created are solved with respect to time together with the ODEs of the bulk phase. Since the system is stiff, the computer code of Hindmarsh [51] is used as the ODE solver. In general, the simulations progressed without numerical problems. The final values of the rate constants, along with their temperature dependencies, can be obtained with nonlinear regression analysis. The differential equations were solved in situ with the backward... [Pg.172]

No indication is given of the reaction of Co(ril) polymers although these are present in the reaction solutions . It is noteworthy that the intercepts of the above plots do not coincide with the values obtained from the initial Fe(ri) concentration. The zero-time oxidation is believed to arise from a finite quenching time together with a rapid reaction of hydrolysed species of the reactants. The rate of reaction is inversely proportional to the concentration of hydrogen ions. This result is taken as implying competitive reactions between CoOH -t-Fe and Co " -l-Fe, as described by the rate law... [Pg.216]

T]he Origin of Species proposed a radically new idea, conceiving of time not as a power but as a factor whose effect could be perceived directly in distinct but complementary forms fossils, embryos, and rudimentary organs. The fossil was petrified time the embryo, operative time the rudimentary organ, retarded time. Together these bits of evidence constituted the archives of biological history —... [Pg.100]

In neutron activation analysis, the sample in a suitable container, often a pure polyethylene tube, is bombarded with slow neutrons for a fixed time together with standards. Transmutations convert analyte elements into radioactive elements, which are either different elements or isotopes of the original analyte. [Pg.90]

This ensures economically reasonable cycle times together with optimal physical properties due to the high heat capacity of PET, although this mould temperature does not meet the maximal rate of crystallization for PET which was determined to be at 170 C. [Pg.299]

Figure 4. The number of sperm inseminated during In-Pair Copulation (IPC) increases with the risk that the female contains sperm from another man. Risk of sperm competition is measured as the percent of time the couple have spent together since their last IPC (or the last 10 days, whichever is the shorter). Lower percent times together are associated with higher risks of sperm competition. Residual sperm numbers calculated from the parameters listed in Table 1 modified by exclusion of percent time together. All of the parameters listed are therefore statistically controlled (including hours since last ejaculation). Pseudo-replication of data is avoided by including only the first IPC inseminate per couple. Number of couples per data point as shown, F, 47 =5.7, P=0.022. Figure 4. Ever since McClintock (1971) described synchronized estrus cycles in 135 women who roomed together in a women s college dormitory, the search for possible olfactory cues, as occur in other mammals, has continued. The longer the women in McClintock s study spent time together during the academic year (October through March), the closer the times of onset of their menstrual cycles... [Pg.224]

EoUowing the Baume Report, changes were made to the Act and Regulations to introduce specific target evaluation times, together with a fee penalty of 25% if a decision on an application is not made within the specified period. [Pg.655]

Our results are rather similar to those of Wojtowicz (1991). Two narrow lines at 689 and 706 nm with long and slightly different decay times together with broad bands at 750 and 790 nm with short decay times characterized time resolved spectra of kyanite at 300 K (Fig. 4.46). Those data clearly indicate that we have emissions coming from the Cr in three different sites site A with a strong crystal field - doublet i -lines at 689 and 706 nm, site B with a weak crystal field - quartet broad band at 750 nm accompanied by only one doublet i -line at 704 nm which may be detected only at low temperatures, and site C with a weak crystal field - quartet broad band at 790 nm. [Pg.174]

Of course, first, the miles have to be changed to feet. Then find the amount of time on the hare by dividing 0.3 mile by 50 feet per minute. Add the two times together. [Pg.141]

Adding the times together, 352 + 31.68 = 383.68 seconds. This is about 6.39 minutes. What a ride ... [Pg.141]

Formulas that remove food accumulation are suitable for excess and acute conditions. In a condition of chronic food accumulation, among people who have deficiency of the Spleen and Stomach, a formula with tonifying herbs should be used for a long period of time, together with gentle herbs that promote digestion. [Pg.227]

In between my perception and thinking would be fairly normal, but with the waves I would be swept up in imagery or memories heavily laden with emotional content. After two hours I was joined by my wife. We spent some very intimate time together, and I remember asking her who she was and she replied, Your wife. This was very powerful to me since I did not really know... [Pg.206]

Figure 21. Emission in the 1800-2800 cm-1 region following the IRMPD of CH2F2 (25 mTorr) in the presence of NO (lOOmTorr) and Ar (lOTorr). Emission from N20 (001) and C02 (001) are seen at long times following the vibrational cascade of highly excited species their presence at early times [together with CO(v = 1)] was established by cold gas filter experiments. N20 is the dominant emitter, and is believed to originate from the reaction sequence (20), (17). Figure 21. To confirm these calculations, stirring experiments were conducted under the standard conditions at 300, 450, 600, 900, and 1200 RPM. The results presented as pressure drop in the reservoir versus time together with the optical yields are shown in Figure 5. There is no increase in the reaction rate for the system above 600 RPM, consistent with the assumption that rates determined at 900 RPM should be essentially free of both gas-liquid and liquid-solid mass transport control. However, significantly lower reaction rates and optical yields were observed for... [Pg.181]
