Thermal Property Data

In this section the hydrate data for heat capacity and enthalpy of dissociation are presented. The other thermal properties such as thermal conductivity and thermal expansion are presented in Chapter 2 with their analogs for ice. [Pg.519]

Najjar, Bell, and Maddox studied the influence of physical property data on calculated heat transfer film coefficients and concluded that accurate fluid property data is extremely important when calculating heat transfer coefficients using the relationships offered by Dittus-Boelter, Sieder-Tate, and Petukhov. Therefore, the designer must strive to arrive at good consistent physical/thermal property data for these calculations. [Pg.87]

Thermal-property data are needed to relate the enthalpies to temperatures. We would then have 10 variables Q, F, V, W ,T, V , p, T , P, and Counting Eqs. (3.35) and (3.40) to (3.46) we see there are only nine equations. Something is missing. A moment s refleetion should generate the other relationship, a physieal eonstraint Ij, +1 = total volume of tank. [Pg.54]

Thermal conductivity data are even more difficult to obtain. In the case of calorimetric data of heat capacity and heats of dissociation, the measurements though still reasonably challenging are aided by significant improvements in commercial calorimeters that can operate at high pressures. Thermal property data are presented in Section 6.3.2. [Pg.320]

The object of this chapter is to provide an overview of the experimental methods, the phase equilibria data, and the thermal property data available on hydrates since Hammerschmidt (1934) on hydrates in natural gas systems. The tabulations and figures illustrate that more data are needed, particularly for phase equilibria mixtures of noncombustible components, structure H components, and for thermal property data. [Pg.523]

Chapters 7 and 8 consider two applications of the data in this chapter and the correlation methods of Chapters 4 and 5. Chapter 7 considers the impact of hydrate on energy, climate, and geohazards in the earth, as examples of phase equilibria and thermal property data application. In Chapter 8, applications caused by hydrates in gas processing and production are described. [Pg.523]

The polymer heat capacity data bank is, as outlined in the Introduction, is only the first step towards the establishment of a comprehensive Thermal Properties Data Bank. Presently we are expanding our efforts to include glass transition temperatures, melting temperatures and heats of fusion. In the planning stage are specific volune, compressibility, and thermal conductivity data banks, as well as the expansion to non-equilibrium properties. [Pg.361]

In order to design the optimum structure of FGM for stress-relaxation, mechanical and thermal property data of each layer at the practical used temperature are greatly needed, but in the recent work on FGM of PSZ/IN 100, most of such data are obtained only at room temperature. ... [Pg.451]
