A similar study investigated both the ingress and release of Theiler s murine encephalomyelitis virus from baby hamster kidney cells [185]. Here, it was concluded that there was no difference in the effect on the cell smface between both enveloped and nonenveloped cells upon both entrance and departure from the cell. Although line analysis suggests a difference between the cells, it is hypothesised that this could be due to different mechanisms for enveloped and nonenveloped cells.
