TEXSYS

In a real-time scenario a fast response from TEXSYS has to be ensured, usually within seconds. To achieve fast response times, data to be processed by TEXSYS are hltered according to their change characteristics for instance, steadily or slowly changing data are eliminated. TEXSYS is able to identify all the seven known system-level fanlts as well as component-level faults as chosen by thermal engineers. [Pg.270]

A separate library of generic components inclnding their characteristics ensnres that TEXSYS can be adapted to different hardware conhgnrations. Changes in the thermal bns hardware cansed the creation of a new mathematical model in TEXSYS by choosing components from this library and connecting them as in the schematic diagram of the hardware. [Pg.270]

New data from the intermediate or integration layer of TEXSYS are placed into the model at sensor locations and are then processed both by active valnes, across connections, and by rnles, across components. The insertion of a datnm at a given location in the model may then result in a chain of inferences abont the behavior of the system. [Pg.270]

TEXSYS is an expert system developed by NASA to monitor conditions and determine malfnnctions in thermal bus components of propnlsion jet engines. [Pg.273]
