Technology amorality

In industry there are many applications where the hammermill and the conical screen mill will overlap, however, in recent years there has been an increased demand for the conical screen mill as they are amore efricient and predictable technology. Developed in 1965, the hammermill has been replaced by conical screen mills particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. The main benefits of the conical screen mill includes low noise, low dust, a tighter particle size distribution, flexibility to mill both wet and dry material, ability to be flood fed and generally a higher capacity due to the 360 discharge available with the conical design. [Pg.197]

After many applications of the microwave heating technology, it is possible to successfully perform batch-wise chemical synthesis at multigram scales. Moseley et al. (2008) designed seven different types of commercial microwave reactors for hm-ited scale-up. Bowman et al. (2008) also scale-up microwave-promoted reactions to the multigram level using a sealed-vessel microwave apparatus, while Amore et al. (2007) scale-up the esterification reactions up to 3 mol. [Pg.359]
