Note that each of the C2 axes not only is coincident with a B-F bond but also is the line of intersection of the horizontal plane with one of the vertical planes. In Chapter 4, the icosahedral structure of the B12 molecule was shown. Although all of the symmetry elements of a molecule having this structure will not be enumerated, the symmetry type is known as Ih.
