This chapter reviews the research design methodologies and explains how to build theory from case study research. Supply chain assessment is a crucial part of the supply chain differentiation process. In the following an introductory overview will be given, which includes the most important approaches to supply chain assessments. Three methods will be discussed in further detail in order to provide a picture of the scope of operations following the implementation of these methods.
