Sunflower honey

Each plant tissue tends to have an obviously distinctive profile of flavonoids. The flavonoid content can reach about 0.5% in pollen, 10% in propolis, and about 6 mg/kg in honey. Havonoid aglycones appear to be present only in propolis and honey, while pollen contains flavanols in herosidic forms. The flavonoids in honey and propolis have been identified as flavanones and flavanones/flavanols (Campos et ah, 1990). The antimi-crobially active flavanone pinocembrine was foimd to be a major flavonoid in honey (Bogdanov, 1989). Amiot et ah (1989) studied two blossom and two honeydew Swiss honey samples and foimd that pinocembrine was the main flavonoid. Pinocembrine concentration varied between 2 and 3 mg/kg (Bogdanov, 1989). Berahia et ah (1993) analyzed sunflower honey samples and detected six flavone/flavols, four flavanone/ flavols, and pinocembrin, of which pinocembrin is the main flavonoid. The flavonoids in sunflower honey and propolis were characterized and assessed for their effects on hepatic drug-metabolizing enzymes and benzo [fl]pyrene-DNA adduct formation (Sabatier et ah, 1992 Siess et ah, 1996). 

A high content of hesperetin was detected in citrus honey samples (Ferreres et ah, 1993, 1994b,c,e). 8-Methoxy-kaempferol was the main compound in rosemary honey samples, whereas luteolin was the main compound in lavender honey samples (Ferreres et ah, 1994b, 1998). Quercetin was used as a marker for differentiating for sunflower honey... 

Quercetin, pinobanksin, kaempferol, pinocembrin, chrysin, galangin, and tecto-chrysin were extracted from sunflower honey and resolved on a Cjg colunm... 

Cereal flour, buckwheat flour, soy flour, seafood allergens, pork, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, lupin, spinach, sarsaparilla root dust, cocoa, coffee dusts, green tea, egg protein, lactalbumin, milk powder, casein, honey, a-amylase, glucoamylase, pectinase, gluconase, pepsin, pectin, spices, carmine, flavorings... 

Sow thistle (Cirsium oleraceum Scop.) honey is white, with a pleasant aroma and flavor. Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) honey is golden yellow but turns light amber, sometimes with a greenish tint when it crystallizes. It has a faint aroma and a pleasant, though pungent flavor. 

For the dressing, combine lemonade, honey, and canola oil in a mixing cup. Combine all eight fruits in a large bowl. Pour dressing and sprinkle sunflower seeds over fruit, toss, garnish with parsley, and serve. 

From the obtained data result that the most frequently detected OCPs were in linden and locust honey and in sunflower, mountain flower, fir and conifer honey was detected only one or two pesticides. Organochlorines were not detected in honey obtained from various flowers in two regions of Romania.
