Subtraction method equation

This method is used with linear equations. It applies the process of subtracting one equation from another to obtain a simpler equation. That is, the left-hand side of the first equation is subtracted from the left-hand side of the second equation and the right-hand side of the first equation is subtracted from the right-hand side of the second to yield a new equation that is simpler. [Pg.81]
