I once unsuccessfully attempted to convince Professor Gerhardt Schen-kel at Stuttgart University s Institute of Plastic Technology that the then existing models for plastic extruders were only conditionally applicable to extruders for ceramic bodies [6]. Later, we had a cultivated meeting of the minds with his successors at the institute. Prof. H.G. Fritz and K. Geiger [7]. [Pg.2]

This research was carried out during the author s stay at the Institut fiir Anwendungen der Geodasie im Bauwesen in Stuttgart University. The author would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof. K. Linkwitz, Secretary C. Schuler, Dr. H.J. Monicke, U. Heck and other colleagues for their help and suggestions. [Pg.361]

To prepare this formal representation, Ivan I. Mueller, then President of the lAG, had asked Prof. K. Linkwitz of Stuttgart University to organize a first symposium in this field, sponsored by both lAG and FIG (the latter representing engineering surveying in its Commission 6). [Pg.435]

We are much indebted to the Royal Society of Chemistry for a Kapitza Fellowship (for S.S.B.) which allowed the work on this book to begin, and to Prof. Judith A. K. Howard of Durham University (U.K.), without whose help and encouragement it would not have been completed. We thank also Prof. Kenneth Wade of Durham University, Prof. Dipankar Datta of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Prof. PekkaPyykko of University of Helsinki, Prof. Laslo von Szentpdly of Stuttgart University for helpful comments. Last but not least, we thank our family for constant and patient support during the work on this book. [Pg.547]

The Institut fur Chemische Verfahrenstechnik at Stuttgart University has reported at length on the topic of process design and intensification - in particular as they impact on several examples of chemical reaction engineering (Eigenberger et al., 2007). A number of processes were examined, ranging from steam reformers to diesel exhaust gas treatment (an interesting non-chemical plant application of PI which readers of the paper may find valuable). [Pg.358]
