Storage longer-term

Uninhibited chloroprene suitable for polymerisation must be stored at low temperature (<10° C) under nitrogen if quaUty is to be maintained. Otherwise, dimers or oxidation products are formed and polymerisation activity is unpredictable. Insoluble, autocatalytic "popcorn" polymer can also be formed at ambient or higher temperature without adequate inhibition. For longer term storage, inhibition is required. Phenothiasine [92-84-2] / fZ-butylcatechol [2743-78-17, picric acid [88-89-17, and the ammonium salt of /V-nitroso-/V-pheny1hydroxy1 amine [135-20-6] have been recommended. 

The insoluble hydroxides of Cd and Ni deposit on the electrodes. Hence, quick reversals of half-reactions occur during recharging. These batteries are costlier than lead storage batteries, but they have a longer term of existence. 

Exposed ordinary combustibles (Class A) should not be permitted to accumulate in the control room area. Process data printouts, batch records, shipping documents, and other paper in the open should be minimized, preferably limited to one-day s output. Where longer-term storage of such paper files or storage of supplies is required, closed-door metal cabinets should be provided. Metal file cabinets should be provided to store drawings, electrical diagrams, manuals, equipment catalogs, etc. 

The short-term stability study is conducted over extreme environmental conditions to increase the rate of chemical degradation. The data obtained from short-term stability studies are normally used to evaluate longer term chemical effects at nonextreme storage conditions, but they are also helpful to assess the effect of shortterm excursions outside the recommended storage conditions that might occur during shipping. However, the results from short-term stability studies cannot always... 

It is of interest for the pharmaceutical industry to know the degradation of its drug products at accelerated conditions to assess degradation for longer term storage at nonextreme conditions and short excursions outside of the recommended storage... 

After fixation, it is usually best to stain and run the samples as soon as possible, and certainly within a few days, since there is evidence to suggest that some proteins are susceptible to degradation in longer-term storage. With the enucleated samples, there is a tendency for further clumping to occur in storage. 

Store the phage supernatant either at 4°C for short-term storage or in PBS, containing 15% glycerol for longer-term storage at-70°C. 

For longer term storage, gels may be stored wet at 4°C. The wet gel should be wrapped in a piece of plastic wrap. This permits handling the gel without risk of breakage. The wrapped gel can be stored in a sealable bag for <1 year at 4°C. To preserve gels indefinitely, they may be either vacuum dried onto filter paper or air dried between sheets of cellophane. 

Testing frequencies under accelerated storage conditions are usually 0-, 1-, 3-, and 6-month intervals or longer-term stability testing every 3 months during the first year and semiannually thereafter at ambient temperature conditions. 

The precipitate can be kept at 4°C if not required immediately or at -20°C for longer-term storage. Alternatively, the precipitate should be resuspended in a 50% volume of a suitable buffer, then dialyzed overnight at 4°C see Note 11). 

Short-term storage Short-term in situ storage includes membranes that are off line for longer than 48 hours but less than 2 weeks (see Chapter 13.1.1). 

The majority of SNF in the UK is stored in water filled pools. A significant proportion of this fuel has been, or will be, reprocessed. Research has demonstrated that longer term storage of stainless steel or Zircalloy clad fuel is feasible and it is now planned for some fuel from British Energy NPPs to be stored for the foreseeable future.
