Standard practice, definition

To make further progress, it is standard practice to take this definition of the spectral density and replace it by a continuous form based on physical intuition. A form that is often used for the spectral density is a product of ohmic dissipation qco (which corresponds to Markovian dynamics) times an exponential cutoff (which reflects the fact that frequencies of the normal modes of a finite system have an upper cutoff) ... 

Altitude Response. Pressure response is an issue that needs to be addressed for every instrument deployed on an aircraft. First, it must be decided how chemical abundances are to be reported. If standard practice is followed and they are reported as mixing ratios, then it must be determined whether the instrument is fundamentally a mass- or a concentration-depen-dent sensor, because this definition determines the first-order means by which instrument response is converted to mixing ratios as a function of pressure. In this context, a mass-sensitive detector is a device with an output signal that is a function of the mass flow of analyte molecules a concentration-sensitive detector is one in which the response is proportional to the absolute concentration, that is, molecules per cubic centimeter. 

It is standard practice in thermodynamics to divide things up into the system and the surroundings (Frame 1). Figure 7.1 shows two examples. In defining the system we define a definitive boundary. Once this designation is made, thermodynamics then considers the transfer of energy (defined as the capacity to do work, w or transfer heat, q) and matter to and from the system. For this we need to adopt a sign convention. 

A standard practice is a definitive procedure for performing one or more specific operations or functions that do not produce a test result. We suggest that standards for the restoration of documents should fall in this category. 

The term standard operating procedure (SOP) is properly restricted to CLP operations (see Section 5.2 and below) where it has a precise definition within the terms of the standard. However, the term is widely used by laboratories not complying with GLP as a synonym for procedures to emphasise the importance of following them as standard practice (see Section 2.2).

Because of this, it is standard practice to correct the Fourier transforms of classical correlation functions with the factor 1/(1 + e " ). Tool Shape and Trajectory Definition In order to curb a great variety of all possible tool shapes and sizes, the industry focuses on the standardized geometric definition of a generalized cutting tool that is based on the APT definition.
