Stabilizer Synthesis. The selected alkyltin chloiide intermediate reacts with either a carboxyhc acid or a mercaptan in the presence of an appropriate base, such as sodium hydroxide, to yield the alkyltin carboxylate or alkyltin mercaptide heat stabihzet.
