Synthesis of NHC-Stabilized Silylaminosilylene

Ar(SiMe3)NSiHCl2 and hPr were synthesized according to published procedures (6—7). The reaction of Ar(SiMe3)NSiHCl2 with two equiv of hPr in THF produced the desired NHC-stabilized silylaminosilylene. [Pg.124]

Schlenk flask, magnetic stirrer, vacuum pump, low-temperature reactor, constant pressure funnel, safety glasses, laboratory coat, and protective gloves. [Pg.124]

All operations should be carried out under an atmosphere of dry argon or nitrogen by using modified Schlenk line and glovebox techniques due to the air and moisture sensitivity of the silylene. All solvents should be freshly distilled from sodium and degassed immediately prior to use. [Pg.125]

The NHC-stabilized silylaminosilylene can be used as a silylation reagent for alkynes, carbonyl compounds, and nitriles for the synthesis of a large number of organosilanes. [Pg.125]
