Stability, reliability

For any application, the software used for model deployment is quite different than the software used for model development. This is because deployment software has a very different function, and thus very different reqnirements, than development software. Whereas development software requires flexibility and nser-friendliness, deployment software requires long-term stability, reliability, and accessibility to critical on-line data. The following are questions that reflect some conunon deployment software issues in a PAT project ... [Pg.432]

A large number of explosives are already available for use. However, selection of an explosive is made in the light of its stability, reliability, safety, application and mission requirements. At the time of development of a new explosive, it is essential to keep in mind factors such as indigenous availability of starting materials, ease of method of preparation, purity of explosive and its cost, in addition to its impact on the environment and potential for demilitarization. In this Chapter the following aspects of explosives will be discussed ... [Pg.163]

Frequently, absolute accuracy cannot be established owing to the lack of a suitable calibration standard. For this reason, precision or repeatability can be more important than accuracy Because the measurement is being made continuously or repeatedly, we are more interested in changes in the reading than its absolute value. Precision is defined as the ability of an analyzer to produce the same output each time the same quantity of the component or property is being measured. The terms stability, reliability, and reproducibility are sometimes used synonymously with repeatability. However, the term reliability is also used to describe the instrument s "up time."... [Pg.327]

Sensitivities in electrochemical detection are much improved compared to UV detection [26,31,274], although some authors claim it to be of the same order [272], This may again reflect the dependence of detector responses on the condition and type of electrodes on one hand and the type of detector cell on the other. For (-)-epicatechin a detection limit in the pico-molar range has been reported in the dual-mode detection [272]. Other researchers found detection limits of 0.1 mg/1 for (+)-catechin, (-)-epicatechin and procyanidin B3 [74], Me Murrough and Baert [31], who analyzed beer by direct injection HPLC, noticed a 40 % decrease of responses using dual-mode electrochemical detection compared to singlemode detection. Because of improved stability, reliability and accuracy they advocate the use of dual-mode detection after all. [Pg.553]

High stability, reliability 2. Available in very small (0.1 mm) diameter 3. Fast response 4. Can be used at high temperatures (300°C) 1. Relatively high cost for close tolerances and interchangeability 2. Resistor network padding or use of matched pairs required 3. Comparatively low dissipation constants... [Pg.1175]

Biosensors certainly have the potential to become useful environmental screening tools but a great deal of research has to be done to improve long time stability, reliability, and ease of application. [Pg.318]

For most fine powders including nanoparticles, strong inteiparticle attractions tend to stick the particles into agglomerates, which make the independent dispersion of the powders difficult and, more importantly, deteriorate the final property including the thermal conductivity, viscosity, suspension stability, reliability, and reproducibility. There is a great difference of density between metallic particles and fluids. As a result, the stability of the suspension of metalhc particles in hquid media is usually... [Pg.2791]

There are various theoretical methods for calculating the lattice energy of a molecular crystal. It is important to note that the accuracy of these methods is key to the correct prediction of co-crystal stability. Some verification of the accuracy of the method for calculating the lattice energy is possible using experimental information. If the method, when used in crystal structure prediction, fails to predict the known polymorphs of the molecular crystals as low energy structures, then it is clear that, unless there is some fortuitous cancellation of errors, the method will not be able to predict co-crystal stability reliably. [Pg.48]
