NOTE The above values for each evaluation factor are the average of each committee member s rating on a scale of 0-10. These average values were then summed to arrive at the totals given in the last column. Small differences in the summed ratings, up to about five poinfs, were not considered to be significant by the committee. There was no weighting. [Pg.24]

A second consideration in development is that investigational/clinical materials, while not requiring validation, can benefit from some rudimentary efforts to confirm process efficacy. Developmental materials that are intended to be sterile must be supported by validation studies that fulfill that expectation. (See Sec. 4 on sterile products for a summary of these.)... [Pg.87]

New EU directives may limit the development and application of new biocides and for this reason, and concerns on toxicity or pollution, there is interest in alternative water treatment techniques such as ultrasound, high-pressure vortexing and electro-coagulation. These may also be used where chemical treatment is not appropriate. ATP measurements are likely to prove useful to monitor the effectiveness of these types of treatment but as with chemical biocidal treatment the nature of the ATP results may depend on the mode of action. One type of electrochemical treatment has been evaluated in our laboratory. The results indicate that as with chemical biocide treatment the use of both Total and Free ATP measurements can be of value in the interpretation of the results, monitoring the process efficacy and in optimisation of this method of water treatment. [Pg.429]

Update the previously published evaluation of the DAVINCH, CDC, and Dynasafe static kiln technologies for the destruction of chemical munitions, to include the NSCM EDS or any viable detonation technologies. Evaluation factors will include process maturity, process efficacy/throughput rate, process safety, public and regulatory acceptability, secondary waste issues, and destruction verification capability. [Pg.9]
