Stability cooling

Generally the substances in this class are unstable when heated or exposed to light they should be stored cool and in the dark. However, for liquids with added stabilizer cooling may cause separation of the material from the stabilizer. Similarly, precipitation of a potentially explosive compound from a diluent may occur on cooling. In both cases this can represent a hazardous situation. [Pg.245]

VIV propene to equimolar mixtures of propane + oxygen reduced the cool-flame induction period by ca. 18 % at 300 °C. Like the previous work, these results showed the importance of the conjugate alkene in the autocatalytic oxidation of propane. However, at 247 °C, the yield of cyclohexene just prior to the cool flame was < 1 % of the total products. In contrast, at temperatures above 300 °C, it becomes the major product and is formed in roughly equal amounts with hydrogen peroxide prior to a stabilized cool flame [52]. An important application of the heated flat-flame burner is the photolytic perturbation of the post cool-flame gases downstream from the stabilized cool-flame of n-heptane [83]. Prepared feeds are marketed in various forms from very fine particles through cmmbles, flakes, and pellets. Pelleted rations may be hard, semimoist, or moist. Hard pellets typically contain less than 10% water and can be stored under cool, dry conditions for at least 90 days without deterioration of quahty.
