Spectroscopy tests

The measurements in an impedance spectroscopy test of a simple electrolyte are normally obtained in the hertz to some megahertz frequency range with an impedance analyzer for this purpose impedance spectroscopy as a methodology is similar with DS (see Section 8.6.2). [Pg.188]

By the method of introducing Pt into the DLC, the platinum metal is assumed to be distributed over the carbonaceous material bulk as discrete atoms or clusters [154], Essentially, Pt is not a dopant in the DLC, in the sense that the term is used in semiconductor physics. Nor is the percolation threshold surpassed, since the admixture of Pt (not exceeding 15 at. %) did not affect the a-C H resistivity, as was shown by impedance spectroscopy tests p 105 Q, cm, like that of the undoped DLC (see Table 3). It was thus proposed that the Pt effect is purely catalytic one Pt atoms on the DLC surface are the active sites on which adsorption and/or charge transfer is enhanced [75], (And the contact of the carbon matrix to the Pt clusters is entirely ohmic.) This conclusion was corroborated by the studies of Co tetramethylphenyl-porphyrin reaction kinetics at the DLC Pt electrodes [155] redox reactions involving the Co central ion proceed partly under the adsorption of the porphyrin ring on the electrode. [Pg.255]

There are several spectroscopy tests that can be used to determine the nature of materials that have fouled or scaled a membrane. These are described below. [Pg.302]

A solution of 10 mg of a selected polymer dissolved in 1 ml THF was gradually added to 30 ml deionized water and stirred. The solution was placed in a dialysis membrane for 24 hours to form a micelle solution. Then the 3 to 5 ml micelle of the solution was placed in an acrylic cuvette to measure micelle sizes and their distribution by photon correlation spectroscopy. Testing results are provided in Table 1. [Pg.46]

Metaprolol tartrate tablet testing uses UV and IR spectroscopy for metaprolol ID, TLC for the tartrate ion ID, and HPLC retention time for identification. The IR spectroscopy test is carried out by dissolving approximately 136 mg of finely ground tablets and in 25 mL of water with 4 mL of ammonium hydroxide (1 3). After extraction with chloroform, the organic layer is dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, evaporated, and placed in a freezer to congeal... [Pg.329]

It can be seen that the bonding mechanism of dithiocarbamatic acid is S S type. Alkyl dithiocarbamatic acids are weak electrolytes. According to the ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy testing of Cook, the dissociation constants of several alkyl dithiocarbamatic acids are as follows ... [Pg.16]

The silane film formed over aluminum packing is analyzed by an electron microscope. Their thicknesses are about 0.05 nm. They are in the forms of discrrte agglomerates. Probably, this happens dnring drying of the gels. Then the structure of the film of vinyltriethoxysilane formed on the aluminum surface is studied by infrared spectroscopy. On the basis of the analysis of the spectroscopy test, the following information can be extraeted. [Pg.27]
