In initiating PETN by sparks generated by a condenser discharge, Romanov Sten gach (Ref 14) found that discharge energies for 50% expln increased with increasing PETN particle size. Similar effects are reported for several other expls (see Vol 5, E43)... [Pg.494]

Since 1995, the sparks solvent/fuel site located in Sparks, Nevada, a remediation system consisting of MPE, air sparging, and SVE, has been operational. A closely related protocol for the synthesis of imidazoles was independently investigated by Sparks and Combs (Scheme 6.199) [362]. Here, the authors employed readily available unsymmetrical keto-oximes as building blocks, initially leading to N-hydroxyimidazoles.
