Southern Californias ADAM System

The PHRAN-SPAN natural language interface for system-level specifications, the AGIS graphics interface for directly manipulating the Design Data Structure, the 3DIS data base interface, and the SLIDE hardware description language. 

Uses the Design Data Structure (DDS) to represent behavioral, structural, and physical information. 

The data flow model represents operations, operation inputs, and data dependencies between operations using a bipartite directed acyclic graph. 

The control and timing model represents events and relations between events, also using a directed acyclic graph. 

The DDS also has the capability to represent timing constraints, and both synchronous and asjmchronous behavior.

The Univ. of Illinois IBA (Interleaved binder and Allocator) system consists of several parts Illinois Mixed behavior / Structure Language (IMBSL), which performs data path synthesis RLEXT (Register Level Exploration Tool), which allows a user to manually modify a Register-Transfer level design, and then automatically repairs any errors or omissions so that the final result matches the specified behavior, COD, a control unit synthesizer LE (Layout Estimator) and Fasolt, a Register-Transfer level datapath optimizer.
