Derivation (1) Phosphate rock, apatite, and phosphorite (2) by the interaction of soluble of calcium chloride and sodium triphosphate with excess of ammonia (3) by interaction of hydrated lime and phosphoric acid. [Pg.220]

Phase I is the more rapidly hydrating form of sodium triphosphate and solution is accompanied by rapid formation of the hexahydrate. Phase II, on the other hand, dissolves less readily, but can form supersaturated solutions (32 g anh per 100 g solution) from which the hexahydrate crystallises comparatively slowly. The normal solubility of the hexahydrate is about 13 g anh per 100 g solution. [Pg.229]

Phospha.tes, Pentasodium triphosphate [7758-29-4] sodium tripolyphosphate, STPP, Na P O Q, is the most widely used and most effective builder in heavy-duty fabric washing compositions (see also Phosphoric acid and phosphates). It is a strong sequestrant for calcium and magnesium, with a p c of ca 6, and provides exceUent suspending action for soils. Because of its high sequestration power, it also finds extensive appHcation in automatic-dishwashing detergents. Sodium tripolyphosphate forms stable hydrates and thus aids in the manufacture of crisp spray-dried laundry powders. [Pg.527]

DNA polymerase I, Klenow Fragment, EXO(-) was obtained from Funakoshi (Tokyo, Japan). Luciferase, Adenosine-5 -triphosphate sulfurylase, adenosine 5 -phosphosulfate sodium salt, D-Luciferin sodium salt, and magnesium acetate Tetra hydrate were obtained from Sigma (MO, USA). Deoxynucleotide and 2 -deoxyadenosine 5 -0-(l-thiotriphosphate) were obtained from Amersham Pharmacia Biotech (UK). Other chemicals were of an analytical-reagent grade. Instruments ... [Pg.539]

Calteridol calcium is used as a chelating excipient in a parenteral formulation and was chosen as an example for two reasons. It contains water associated with a metal cation and thus represents a Class 3 hydrate. In addition, water is also contained in channels, as with the second example. What is unique about the calteridol system is that a single crystal structure has been solved for the tetra-decahydrate (reactant) and the tetra-dihydrate (product) using the same crystal. This procedure permits an interesting look not only into the structural differences but also into the energetic differences of the water environment through thermal analysis. A similar study was performed on the dihydrate and trihydrate phases of di-sodium adenosine 5 -triphosphate [25]. [Pg.156]
