Stamping soap

Use Alkyd resins, dynamite, ester gums, pharmaceuticals, perfumery, plasticizer for regenerated cellulose, cosmetics, foodstuffs, conditioning tobacco, liquors, solvent, printer s ink rolls, polyurethane polyols, emulsifying agent, rubber stamp and copying inks, binder for cements and mixes, special soaps, lubricant and softener, bacteriostat, penetrant, hydraulic fluid, humectant, fermentation nutrients, antifreeze mixtures. 

The Merquat , titanium dioxide, colorant and fragrance are mixed with the soap base, which has been milled once previously. This mix is then milled three further times, followed by plodding, extruding and stamping into bars.

Since toilet soaps are required to be somewhat firmer and harder than ordinary household soaps, a certain amount of evaporation of their combined water must be allowed to take place during the re-melting but this must not be carried too far, otherwise the soap will be liable to crack during the subsequent pressing or stamping operations. Again, it will he necessary to evaporate a portion of the combined water to allow for the addition of the essential oils or perfumes which are to be blended with it. 

When the cakes have been scraped they are moistened with alcohol, to improve the smoothness of their surface. To accomplish this, the fingers of the right hand are dipped in dcohol, and this is spread quickly over the cake, which is then rolled in both hands, by which it becomes moistened all over in a few moments. The cakes are again dried for about twenty-four hours, after which they are ready for the final stamping, which is effected in the fly or screw press, by which an active man can mould 1,500 cakes of soap per day.

The production of syndet bars is to some extent more difficult than the manufacture of normal soaps. The difficulty is always in the area of refining and stamping. Properly formulated syndet bars can be produced with standard soap-finishing line machinery. 

The blocks of soap should not be stripped until quite cold throughout, and they should be allowed to stand open for a while before slabbing. When freshly cut into tablets, the soap may appear somewhat turbid, but the brightness comes with the exposure it will receive prior to stamping and wrapping.
