Slate character

In seeking the answer to the riddle of human behavior, Dr. Freud found (or thought he did) that most character traits or mental attitudes in patients could be explained if only he probed far enough back into the patient s past, back to earliest childhood. He decided that the human psyche at the time of birth was like a blank slate, on which various designs were registered as the growing child adapted himself and his few primitive instincts to his circumstances to his parents, his relatives and the rules and characteristics of the household and the society.

In addition, the crude oils available today to the refinery are quite different in composition and properties to those available some 30 years ago (Swain, 1998 Speight, 1999). The current crude oils are somewhat heavier insofar as they have higher proportions of nonvolatile (asphaltic) constituents. In fact, by the standards of yesteryear, many of the crude oils currently in use would have been classified as heavy feedstocks, bearing in mind that they may not approach the definitions used today for heavy crude oils. Changes in feedstock character, such as this tendency to heavier materials, require adjustments to refinery operations to handle these heavier crude oils to reduce the amount of coke formed during processing and to balance the overall product slate. 

However, it has become apparent, with the introduction of the heavier feedstocks into refinery operations, that these ratios are not the only requirement for predicting feedstock character before refining. The use of more complex feedstocks (in terms of chemical composition) has added a new dimension to refining operations. Thus, although atomic ratios, as determined by elemental analyses, may be used on a comparative basis between feedstocks, there is now no guarantee that a particular feedstock will behave as predicted from these data. Product slates cannot be predicted accurately, if at all, from these ratios. 

The diphenylbutylpiperidine class can Itc considered a modification of the fluorohulyrophenonc class. Because of their high hydrophobic character, the compounds are inherently long acting. Penfluridol has undergone clinical trials in the United Slates, and pimozide has been approved for antipsychotic use. Overall, side effects for the two compounds resemble tho.se pmduced by the lluorobutyrophc-nones.

As described earlier, each driver in Washington Slate is assigned a 12-character driver s license number. When driving and criminal records are computerized, this license number is used to retrieve such information. Roure-Bertrand Fils slate that certain constituents of neroli oil are destroyed by steam distillation in the ordinary method. They state that slight modification in the distillation process produces distinct alterations in the physical characters of the oil, especially the optical rotation. They have therefore carried out an exhaustive examination of neroli oil made by an extraction process, with subsequent distillation.
