Site multi-user sites

These diverging views have led to a strong pressure towards separation - predominantly at multi-user sites where service customers are often from different corporations. With service companies increasingly trying to expand into the external market, some chemical companies in turn became convinced that a successful disinvestment would be possible. A number of them have indeed made intense disinvestment efforts. Up to early 2005, however, these efforts have not been successful. 

The embedded microcomputer board applies the ASD (Advanced Spectral Deconvolution) algorithm to the Diode Array signal, stores the spectra, the results together with the traceability data (time, user, sampling site...). Analysis of cohorts in a multi-site study coordinated by the EMCDDA shows substantial differences in mortality and causes of death between locations. In cities with high HIV infection among drug users, the impact of AIDS from the mid-1980s has raised mortality rates. In Barcelona (Figure 14), mortality reached over 50 per 1 000 users per year from 1 992 to 1 996 before falling markedly, reflecting a drop in AIDS deaths (probably because of new antiretroviral treatments) and, to a lesser extent, in overdose deaths. 

Our examination of this topic is based on a multi-sited ethnographic study performed over a period of 2 years (2011-2012) in a medical device company in Denmark. The focus for the study was to understand (a) the practices employed in the company s design work, (b) what comprises design work, (c) the company s definition of user involvement , and (d) how users of the medical devices are involved (or not) in the design work.
