Silver wire interconnects

Each PZT stack (Noliac, Denmark) had an overall size of 5mm x 5mm x ISnun and was composed of 8 active plates (modules) and 2 inactive endplates. Each individual active plate (5mm x 5mm x 2mm) was a multilayer actuator with an inter-digital electrode (IDE) configuration that included 30 PZT layers each 67 pm thick. The 5mm x 2mm surfaces of the active plates were coated with silver that served as an external electrode. These silver-coated plates were interconnected with a bus wire in a zigzag pattern. The rated voltage and capacitance of PZT stack were 200 V and 0.76 pF, respectively,... [Pg.68]

The NMES device is connected to the electrodes by soldering and stitching and transmits an electrical impulse to the textile electrodes. The three electrodes on the left side of the pad and the three electrodes on the right side of the pad are connected to each other. A line of embroidered Shieldex silver-plated nylon 117/17 2-ply yam in between the three electrodes makes sure that every electrode will get the impulses that are transmitted from the NMES device. At the back of the orthopaedic pad the electrodes are connected to wires that are interconnected to the NMES device by soldering and stitching. Eurthermore, the orthopaedic pad is hxed by a hook-and-loop fastener to the medical back belt to make sure that it will not slip out... [Pg.123]

If cables are used to ground the bulkhead panel, secure the interconnection to the outside ground system along the bottom section of the panel. Use multiple no. 1/0 or larger copper wire or several solid-copper straps. If using strap, attach with stainless-steel hardware, and apply joint compound for aluminum bulkhead panels. Clamp and Cadweld, or silver-solder for copper/brass panels. If no. 1/0 or larger wire is used, employ crimp lug and stainless-steel hardware. Measure the DC resistance. It should be less than 0.01 Q between the ground system and the panel. Repeat this measurement on an annual basis. [Pg.1215]
