Silver n

Complexes of SIlver(n).— The structures of two complexes of the d ion silver(ii) have been described. In both, the metal co-ordination is square-bipyramidal and reminiscent of that found in many complexes of the iso-electronic copper(ii) cation. The crystal structure of bis(pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylato)silver(n) dihydrate contains planar centrosymmetric [AgfCjHiNO,) ] units (108) in which the Ag-N and Ag-O bond lengths are respectively 2.12(1) and 2.13(1) A. An Ag - O contact of 2.98 A to a [Pg.689]

In a brief communication the complex K[Au(CN) Cy,H20 is said to contain trans-dichlorodicyanoaurateCiu) complex anions. The compounds (110) and (111) are obtained by bromination of linear gold(i) complexes [Pg.690]

Mixed SiIver(i)-Gold(ni) Complexes.— The structure of the salt formed by the complex cation in (112) with the dibromoargentate(i) anion has been described. The gold(ni) co-ordination is square-planar, with Au-S distances of 2.357(8) and 2.324(8) A. The [AgBrj] species is linear, with a Ag-Br bond length of 2.450(5) A. i [Pg.691]

Silver(n) and Silvery hi).—The cationic complex bis-(2,2, 2"-terpyridyl)Ag2+ has been isolated as its peroxydisulphate salt.217 The presence of a d-+d band at 15600 cm-1 is indicative of a six-co-ordinate ion. X-ray photoelectron spectra have provided Ag(3d5/2>3/2) binding energies for this complex and the mono-terpy complex. The influence of pyridine and 2-, 3-, and 4-picoline on bis(diethyl dithio-carbamato)AgH has been examined by e.s.r. spectroscopy.218 The results indicate formation of mono-addition products and the spin hamiltonian parameters for these complexes have been determined. [Pg.428]

Li et al. reported that [3-diketones reacted with styrenes on treatment with silver triflate. The product structure suggested that such reactions proceeded through nucleophilic addition of the enol derived from (3-diketones to the silver n complex of styrene (Scheme 10.22).41... [Pg.296]

Several cycloadditions are known to be promoted by silver salts (see Chapter 2), driven by the Lewis acidity of silver ions. Probably more formal than true cycloadditions, such reactions forming C-C bonds are, indeed, often initiated by the Lewis acidity of silver ions, as revealed by the NMR observation of silver n coordination to siloxyalkynes (Scheme 10.67).106... [Pg.315]

With other metals, such as nickel (19), palladium (32), platinum (45), antimony (46), and occasionally silver (47) and cobalt (48), the internal C-H bond is broken upon initial metalation. In the case of cobalt and silver N-confused porphyrins, the fully deprotonated adducts are always observed upon metalation, which are shown in Figure 5. In the case of these two metals, the macrocycle takes on different charges trianionic in the case of Ag(III) and dianionic in the case of the Co(III) PPha adduct. W-confused porphyrin can adopt multiple charges, as will be described below. In most of these complexes... [Pg.121]
