Silver-coated conductive glass fibers

Chemical composition variable composition silver coatings in Conduct-O-Fil solid glass spheres and fibers -4-16 wt%, 30% on hollow glass spheres, 65 wt% on mica flakes, 8-19 wt% on copper flakes, 24 wt% on nickel granules, 20 wt% on aluminum particles, nickel coating on Compmat carbon fiber is 24 wt%...

Better conductivity than with carbon black can be achieved with metal particles. Common are copper or aluminum in the form of powder or flakes, as well as brass, carbon, and stainless steel fibers. To increase the effective surface, electrically neutral filler particles are coated with metal, e.g., nickel-plated glass fibers or small spheres, silver or nickel-coated mica or silicates [23, 27, 29]. 

Dip the end of this strand into a solution of conducting silver paint and immediately insert the wire into the stem end of the electrode.
