Conductive fibers

The tectorial membrane rests at the top of the organ of Corti, and the basilar membrane forms the base. Two types of hair cells are found along the basilar membrane. There are three rows of outer hair cells and one row of inner hair cells. The outer hair cells form part of the mechanical system of the cochlear partition, while the inner hair cells provide transduction from mechanical motion into neural firing patterns. There are about 30,000 nerve fibers in the human ear. The vast majority are afferent fibers that conduct the inner hair cell neural pulses towards the brain approximately 20 fibers are connected to each of the 1,500 inner hair cells. Approximately 1,800 efferent fibers conduct neural pulses from the brain to the outer hair cells [Pickles, 1988],...

This drug inhibits fast sodium channels in the myocardial cell membrane. Thus, automaticity is decreased in His-Purkinje fibers. Conduction velocity is, however, not affected.

Antistatic additives are capable of modifying properties of plastics in such a way that they become antistatic, conductive, and/or improve electromagnetic interference shielding (EMI). Carbon fibers, conductive carbon powders, and other electrically conductive materials are used for this purpose.

The first study from Table 1, Falla and Farina (2005) conducted the experiment to investigate muscle fiber Conduction Velocity (CV) compared among a group of nineteen upper trapezius muscle patients and nine healthy controls. The EMG signals were measured bilaterally by linear adhesive arrays of four electrodes (bar electrodes, 5x1 mm size, 10 mm apart) packed with a semi-disposable adhesive, separating surface EMG electrodes from subjects skin with small cavity filled with 20-30 xL of conductive gel.
