Silicon compounds amides

The reaction described is of considerable general utility for the preparation of benzoyloxy derivatives of unsaturated hydrocarbons.2"8 Reactions of 2-butyl perbenzoate with various other classes of compounds in the presence of catalytic amounts of copper ions produce benzoyloxy derivatives. Thus this reaction can also be used to effect one-step oxidation of saturated hydrocarbons,9, 10 esters,6,11 dialkyl and aryl alkyl ethers,12 14 benzylic ethers,11,15 cyclic ethers,13,16 straight-chain and benzylic sulfides,12, 17-19 cyclic sulfides,11,19 amides,11 and certain organo-silicon compounds.20... [Pg.97]

Enantioselective enzymatic amide hydrolyses can also be applied for the preparation of optically active organosilicon compounds. The first example of this is the kinetic resolution of the racemic [l-(phenylacetamido)ethyl] silane rac-84 using immobilized penicillin G acylase (PGA E.C. 3.5.1.11) from Escherichia coli as the biocatalyst (Scheme 18)69. (R)-selective hydrolysis of rac-84 yielded the corresponding (l-aminoethyl)silane (R)-85 which was obtained on a preparative scale in 40% yield (relative to rac-84). The enantiomeric purity of the biotransformation product was 92% ee. This method has not yet been used for the synthesis of optically active silicon compounds with the silicon atom as the center of chirality. [Pg.2388]

Monomer silicone compounds, especially organochlorosilanes, hydroxyor-ganosilanes, alkylalkoxysilanes with amide groups in the alkyl radical, and acyloxyorganosilanes, have recently found an independent practical application, but their role as parent substances for the production of silicone oligomers and polymers is particularly important. [Pg.15]

They are often blended into compounds that are developed for injection molding applications. Where such an additive is absent, molded components tend to stick to mold surfaces. To prevent this, mold surfaces must be treated between every cycle, or they can be coated with a range of semipermanent mold release treatments. Inclusion of an internal release agent prevents mold surface build-up, surface charring, and simplifies production. Internal mold release agents may include hydrocarbons, alcohols, carboxylic acids, halogenated compounds, ketones, carboxylic acid esters, amides, metal salts, and silicone compounds. [Pg.4]

All the aromatic polyesters based on DEG have poor compatibility with blowing agents (pentanes or fluorocarbons) and to improve this compatibility compatibilising polyols such as ortho-toluene diamine polyols, propoxylated a-methyl glucoside polyols, oxyethylated p-nonylphenol, amine and amide diols, PO-EO block copolymers, borate esters, silicone compounds and so on, are frequently used [27-30]. [Pg.425]

Silicon—Nitrogen Compounds.46 There is a very extensive chemistry of compounds with nitrogen bound to silicon. The amide, Si(NH2)4 is made by action of NH3 on SiCl4 on being heated, it gives an imide and finally the nitride Si3N4. [Pg.329]

Partial reductions of quaternary salts to dihydro compounds can be achieved with borohydride but such processes are much less well studied than in pyridinium salt chemistry. 1,4-Dihydropyrazines have been produced with either silicon or amide substitution at the nitrogen atoms, and all the diazines can be reduced to tetrahydro-derivatives with carbamate protection on nitrogen, which aids in stabihsation and thus allows isolation. Tacky materials tend to stick to rotors and mbdng chamber walls. This is one of the drawbacks in this type of mixing. When this happens, one has to cool the Banbury walls and rotors. This is a time consuming process and slows down production. Occasionally, use of an appropriate lubricant eliminates this problem. Examples of common lubricants are fatty acids and their metal salts or amides, polyethylene waxes, and silicone compounds. [Pg.117]

Zhou et al. [180] used a laboratory-made fiber with 25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-oxy (2, 7 -dioxo-3, 6 -diazaoctyl)oxy-p-ferf-butylcalix[4]arene/hydroxy-terminated silicone oil (amide bridged-C[4]/OH-TSO) coating in headspace SPME coupled to GC-EID for the determination of phenolic compoimds in wastewater matrices. They have compared the extraction ability of this new fiber with the commercially available polyacrylate (PA, 85 xm) fiber. They showed that the new calixarene fiber had high affinity for the phenolic compounds due to the introduction of the polar amide bridge in calix[4]arene. The authors have applied the method to determine the phenolic analytes in real wastewater samples and found recoveries ranging from 89.7% to 103.2%. [Pg.427]

Compounds where fluorine is bound directly to silicon may be prepared duectly from sihcon tetrafluonde, obtamed by treatment of sihcon tetrachlonde with antimony tnfluonde and an alkyUithium or hthium amide base [99, 100] (equauon 80)... [Pg.600]
