Side hinged doors

Side-Hinged Door. Shelf below the oven, 10 in wide, extends the full width of the oven (minimum). 

Exit routes can be connected to rooms only by side-hinged doors, which must swing out in the direction of travel if the room may be occupied by more than 50 people. 

Revolving, sliding, and overhead doors are prohibited from serving as exit doors. Specifically, at 1910.36(e) OSHAsays that a side-hinged door must be used to connect any room to an exit route. No other type of door is acceptable under the standard.

In general, it is recommended that all doors for laboratory structures should be of the side-hinged, swinging type, opening in the direction of exit travel. For doors opening onto stairways and for an occupant load of 50 or more, or for a high hazard occupancy, doors with these characteristics are required. 

A wall oven is the recommended type of oven to be used when accommodating persons with disabilities. This type of oven can be installed at the most appropriate height for the user, and the controls can be placed within reach of a standing or sitting user. Wall ovens come in several widths (24, 27, and 30 in). There are three types of doors that can be used drop-front, side-hinged, and swinging doors. 

Knee Space. Knee space must be available to wheelchair users to allow them to access the oven. For a drop-front door, knee space must be provided on either side of the oven. For a side-hinged or...

Proceeding from this, the photos show the mountings of such doors. These are a handle of round iron, two steel straps the width of the door (and bolted through the panel ) and on the hinge side supported by blocks lagscrewed into the door frame (this is the construction method for heavy door panels). At the swing side these straps are fitted with latchbolts that turn into catches made of band...

The chamber consists of a strong wooden box, a, 18 in. high by IS in, wide, and H in. det T). To the front a door is attached, hinged in this instance, but a vertical sliding movement would be more convenient. To two sides of the box are fixed wooden supports, which serve to receive teak spars /or supporting drying trays or evaporating dishes. Tlie bottom of the box has a perforation of 3 in, diameter, into wliich a zinc cylinder, 6, is securely fitted, and to this is soldered the upper end of a copper cone, o, with a flat bottom, while into iliis latter a bent tube of 2 [Pg.380]

Casement Window- A window with hinges on one of the vertical sides and swings open like a normal door... 

Door assembly Frame type, card plate type door lock, hinge type hinges, with side protection rod, four side doors open outwards by turns, rear door open upwards. Centralized controlled door lock, electric drive glass frame riser... 

Clear floor space includes the area on the hinge side of the door extending the width of the door and the area past the latch side of the door.
