Shading protection

The seeds of the castor plant are produced ia racemes, or clusters of capsules. The capsules each contain three seeds protected by a hull that is removed prior to processiag. The seeds are mottled to varyiag extents, most often with shades of dark brown ovedayiag shades of light brown. Seeds of commercial varieties range from 250 to 1800/kg. The seeds are toxic, and the ingestion of several seeds can be fatal to humans. 

Significant amounts of cocoa beans are produced in about 30 different locaUties. These areas are confined to latitudes 20° north or south of the equator. Although cocoa trees thrive in this very hot climate, young trees require the shade of larger trees such as banana, coconut, and palm for protection. 

For protective coatings, such as with epoxy paints, the minimum thickness of paint (primer plus paint) should be around 70-80 microns, which is also possible thiough one coat each of primer and paint. If different paint shades are required on outer and inner surfaces paint any one side first, cure it almost completely and then apply the second shade on the other side. Even when there is a wrapping on the second side, can be easily wiped and cleaned, without affecting the first.

Where facilities are exposed to the constant radiation of the sun, sun shades are provided over exterior exposed equipment that may not function properly at elevated temperatures or would deteriorate rapidly if left continual exposed to the direct sunlight. Most electrical or electronic equipment is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 40 °C (104 °F) unless otherwise specified, e.g., hazardous area lighting temperatures are normally specified for 40 °C (104 °F) limit. As the melanin structure grows, it becomes more colored giving various shades of brown color to our skin. This brown coloration acts to help protect deeper skin elements from being damaged by the UV radiation. The absence of the enzyme tyrosinase that converts tyrosine to melanin can lead to albinism. 

The photoprotection hypothesis for anthocyanins is attractive because it can explain why red-leafed plants occur across such diverse environments. In the tropics, for example, anthocyanins in flushing red leaves may provide a critical photoprotective role to the nascent chloroplasts until adequate levels of xanthophylls have been synthesized. In the understorey, anthocyanins might protect shade-acclimated plants from the effects of sunflecks, which can be 2000-fold brighter than the usual light level, or canopy gaps caused by tree blowdown. For sensitive tree species, it was found 10) that irrigation of the seedbeds with an overhead sprinkling system, just before spraying with mineral spirits, reduced injury to a minimum. The weed kill in watered plots was as good as on imwatered plots. Application of the oil sprays in the evening or on cool days also tended to lessen injury to conifers. Seed beds protect by half shade showed much less injury from oil sprays than those in full sunlight.
