Sequential games

Now we have to try to solve the mass-balance equations for each of these species to obtain [M](t), [AMj] r), and [P](r), remembering that j and n can go to infinity. We obviously have to solve an infinite number of equations sequentially in the general case. However, we can make the problem quite simple (but obtain a solution that is not entirely accurate) by setting all kpS and aU k S equal. Now we can play games with summations and make solution of this reaction set a rather straightforward problem. [Pg.456]

The Prisoner dilemma (PD) game is one of the standard protocols used to study cooperative behaviour. However, it only involves the option of either cooperation or deflection which is too simple to account for complex human social interactions. A modified version of the Prisoner Dilemma game called the mixed motive game (MMG) has been developed (Hokanson et al., 1980). It allows more choices in the continuum from cooperation to deflection, including ingratiation, punitive moves without self-gain, cooperation and deflection. Furthermore, differently from the PD, the MMG requires participants to select their options in a sequential rather than in a simultaneous manner. [Pg.52]

It is clear that these thermal criteria for stabihty are given in terms of steady-state values no transients need be calculated. Since the problem may be formulated in terms of a linear matrix, it is easily generalized to chemical reactions involving n species, in either simultaneous or sequential kinetic schemes. While probably obvious, it is worth remarking that there is very Kttle that is intuitive about the criteria of equations (6-38). One cannot rely on a guessing game for such rules. [Pg.412]

Substituting Eq. 5.86, 5.87 and 5.88 in Eq. 5.85 and using a suitable model for enzyme inactivation (i.e. Eq. 5.76 for modulated two-stage sequential inactivation kinetics) batch enzyme reactor performance will be described by the resolution of differential Eqs. 5.85 and 5.76. The same procedure can be used considering other mechanisms of enzyme kinetics and enzyme inactivation. We have constructed a didactic software game in Visual Basic in which kinetic and inactivation parameters can be modified at will and analyze its impact on enzyme reactor performance. [Pg.246]

Tasks that fall within the paradigm of reinforcement learning are control problems, games, and other sequential decision-making tasks. [Pg.917]

As an alternative to the one-shot selection of strategies in the normal form, a game can also be designed in the extensive form. With the extensive form actions are chosen only as needed, so sequential choices are possible. As a result, players may learn information between the selection of actions, in particular, a player may learn which actions were previously chosen or the outcome of a random event. Figure 2.1 provides an example of a simple extensive form... [Pg.15]

Remember, you may feel these different emotions sequentially (feeling different emotions at different points in the game), or, at any given moment when you re with him, you might feel several of them at the same time. [Pg.196]

Many games have breaks in them. It s almost inevitable in games with sequential missions. Often it s because new assets need to load. [Pg.378]
