Magalhaes, L. M., M. A. Segundo, S. Ries et al. 2007. Automatic flow system for sequential determination of ABTS scavenging capacity and Folin-Ciocalteu index A comparative study in food products. Anal. Chim. Acta 592 193-201. [Pg.622]

A sequential procedure was further developed by Tong and Crowe (1996) by applying sequential analysis of the principal component test using the sequential probability ratio test (SPRT). Dunia et al. (1996) also used PCA for sensor fault identification via reconstruction. In that paper it was assumed that one sensor had failed and the remaining sensors are used for reconstruction. Furthermore, the transient behavior of a number of sensor faults in various types of residuals is analyzed, and a sensor validity index is suggested, determining the status of each sensor. [Pg.240]

One or more detectors is attached to the output of the columns. For routine analysis of linear homopolymers, this is most often a Differential Refractive Index (DRI) or a UV detector. For branched or copolymers, however, it is necessary to have at least two sequential detectors to determine molecular weight accurately. Branched polymers can be analyzed using a DRI detector coupled with a "molecular weight sensitive" detector such as an on-line viscometer (VIS) or a low-angle laser light scattering (LALLS) detector. [Pg.113]

The groups of Kramer and Hawker provided an example where the target polymer could be made using sequential CFR polymerizations, but CuAAC simplified the process and made it possible to obtain the polymer with a precise molecular weight and a low polydispersity index (PDl). Attempts to make poly(benzyl methacrylate)-b-poly(butyl acrylate) with equal volume fractions of each block to be used for the determination of order-disorder transition (ODT) led to materials with imprecise volume fractions and PDls higher than 1.3. Instead, by using preformed homopolymers that were then coupled by CuAAC, the authors were able to make a small library of covalent diblock copolymers with low PDIs, while also performing fewer total reactions. [Pg.418]

Virtual cell Mj can process various types of parts. The entry of parts on cell Mj is undertaken sequentially and its rate is determined by the production strategy being considered. The Qy t) represents the supply flow, which crosses virtual cell Mj, from the entry buffer By, to the exit buffer B y+i. If the line consists of m virtual cells and each cell processes n parts, there will then be n x m flows in the entire system. The flow of parts Qyit) is expressed by (30.5), where index i represents the... [Pg.365]

Heuristic approaches are particularly applicable to structural engineering problems because they allow for problem-specific apriori knowledge (Liu et al., 2005). The adaptation of the controllability index, previously used to determine optimal actuator locations for active stmctural control (Cheng and Pantelides, 1988), to sequentially place dampers where their effects are maximised (Zhang and Soong, 1992) was an irmovative... [Pg.35]

The screen index file is the first file accessed for any structure or sula-structure search. It contains all the information necessary to determine structure matches. When the structure matches have been located, additional information for each structure, such as the structure picture, may be retrieved via the accession number. Because its orgcuiization is index-sequential, the screen index file may iye accessed either sequentially, or selectively by use of the its Indexes. [Pg.183]
