The handling, transportation, communications, emergency response, training requirements, and security plans for hazardous materials can be found in 49 CFR 171-179. [Pg.89]

Transporters of Hazardous Materials (49 CFR Part 172, Subpart I). This regulation, which became effective in 2003, requires any offeror or transporter of certain hazardous materials to develop a security plan (including sections on personnel security, unauthorized access, and en-route security) and to conduct security training. [Pg.115]

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration s Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR 171-180) contain specific requirements for the safe transportation of hazardous materials.
